Stallion

Gallifrays Captain Jack

With a plan to breed part bred Gypsy Cobs, our first stallion was a gorgeous 7/8 Gypsy Cob.  When we went to look at him prior to buying him, his owner also showed us her 18 month old pure bred colt.  He was absolutely stunning and unbelievably quiet, so quiet in fact that I double checked that he was actually entire.  I remember thinking how amazing it would be to own a stallion like this one, but also how unlikely that really was.  I spotted this stallion from time to time as photos appeared on facebook and he grew more and more impressive.  One morning I found email with Gypsy Cob listings and there was Jack… for sale… the stallion I had been so impressed by but never in my wildest dreams imagined being able to buy.

Jack is every bit as amazing as I believed him to be… and more so.  He has the most outstanding gentle nature and the kindest eye ever.  He is built like an absolute tank, has loads of feather and the most incredible head.  He runs with mares all the time and loves it.  If you ever spot him in our paddocks you’ll see his forelock plaited… without that plait it’s hard for him to see much under his masses of hair.

Jack was started under saddle by Tina Fagan and is very cool to ride.  He rides a lot bigger than his 13.2hh and is happy to work really hard.

As I write this we are seeing his third season of foals.  He is very generous with his gorgeous head, cruisey nature and his feather and all of his foals to date have done nothing but further convince us how incredibly fortunate we were to be able to have Jack come here.
