Trixie

Trixie has been an all round surprise…  I wasn’t thinking of purchasing another mare at the time but I saw Trixie advertised and was drawn to her as she is Maggie’s half sister and they had been together as foals.  I contacted her owner and expressed interest.  I had a mare for sale and initially decided to wait and see if she sold first.  The problem was that I couldn’t quite get Trixie out of my head… so I contacted her owner and asked if I could buy her.

Trixie was 5 hours north of here but I decided to go and pick her up myself.  The first surprise was a lovely mare whose photos really had not done her justice.  The second was a mare who having done very little recently loaded beautifully onto the float and travelled like a dream the whole way home.

The surprises just continue… she is being the most incredible horse to start under saddle – responsive, calm, sensible, just quite simply amazing!  She has also fitted in beautifully with our other mares and is an absolute delight to have around.  Trixie will have her first foal next year and after that may just become my riding horse for a while.
