Mares
Roses
Roses was our first ¾ Gypsy Cob. We spent some time looking for a mare that was very close to type with a solid build, black and white and with plenty of mane and feather. Eventually we spotted Roses for sale while scanning through listings on our way to our summer camping holiday. In fact, we ended up buying her as we sat by the beach and called her owners in the South Island. Roses then made the long trip up to Cambridge arriving just after we got home. A stunning solidly built yearling she did not disappoint and has grown into an outstanding mare. She has a delightful mind of her own, prefers not to do life at high speeds and is a lovely calm natured mare. If I ever need to pull a mare out of the paddock to sit a toddler or beginner on it’s Roses. Nothing fazes her and starting her under saddle was ridiculously easy. Roses is everything I love about Gypsy Cobs rolled into one.
She has also produced consistently outstanding foals that are beautifully put together, have loads of hair and awesome natures. They are also all black and white as Roses is homozygous for colour. Roses is a great laid back mum – she watches her foals but is more than happy for them to head off and play or for us to handle them.
