Mares

Indie

As lovely as she was, I was not planning to buy Indie.  I received a call from Sue at The Vicarage Gypsy Cobs with an offer for me to buy Indie and as I was heading over that way I decided I should go and have another look at her.  I should have known that I wouldn’t be able to say no…  Indie has the most amazing nature and a way of stealing your heart.

So as a yearling Indie came and joined us.  She fitted in from day one and has grown into an incredible tank of a mare who has a way of drawing people to her.  At one point with someone wanting to buy her and us just having purchased a solid black pure bred mare I contemplated selling Indie.  The plan was to start her under saddle first.  We were starting several youngsters at the time and our potential ‘nana’ mares had foals at foot.  Indie was advancing really well so we decided that with a few extra lessons she could become our ‘nana’ mare.  And she did.  This incredible mare takes everything in her stride, she is responsive and yet so very safe and calm.  In a short space of time she became the mare that we could safely put anyone on.  And in that same short space of time she became a mare that I no longer wanted to part with.  Indie is the one you go to when you need some time out and to just rest your head against the neck of a lovely big, solid, peaceful horse.

Between Indie and Jack, whoever ends up with a foal from Indie will be very lucky indeed – Indie is one special horse!
