Finn

We were looking to purchase our first pure bred mare when the opportunity came up to purchase 2 full sisters.  Given a difficult set of circumstances they had by the age of 18 months and 2 ½ years had very limited handling.  I went to look at them not sure quite what to expect and met 2 ponies very much in paddock condition, but very nicely put together with potential to grow into stunning mares.  With one being solid black and the other a palomino paint they couldn’t have been more different looking for full sisters.

Finn was the older of the two, at 2 ½ years.  Solid black and very wary.  When I went to pick them up I was told by a neighbour who had come to help ‘good luck getting a halter on that black thing’.  But 5 minutes later she had a halter on… wary but willing is how I would have first described Finn.  That same description would apply to a lot of her training with her becoming over time less and less wary but remaining every bit as willing.

Joel started her under saddle and was very impressed with how responsive and agile she is.  Finn just gets better and better.  From the wary wee youngster we first met she now seeks out attention and is an absolute pleasure to have around.
